Description
|
China's relief is complicated and diversified, comprising plateau rising above 4 000 m, inland lake basin 150 m below sea-level, undulating mountains, rivers stretching for thousands of kilometres, and vast expanses of plains. Mountains and plateaus are the dominant features of China's varied landforms, making up 33% and 26% of the total area respectively, while basins, plains and hills account for 19%, 12% and 10% of the total area respectively.
